The Molineux Sleepout returns on Friday November 14, offering supporters an opportunity to raise awareness and funds for Wolves Foundation and Good Shepherd by sleeping outside in the Stan Cullis Stand at Molineux. Organisers have also let potential participants know that they can join the Sleepout virtually, from their own homes, gardens or even in groups at community halls. They said the new option makes the event more accessible than ever, for younger fans, those who are overseas or unable to attend in person. For the first time, the on-stage parts of the event will be streamed, allowing those fans taking part in the Virtual event the opportunity to follow the proceedings. The in-person Sleepout will once again take place in the Stan Cullis Stand at Molineux, where participants will brave the cold overnight to show solidarity with those facing homelessness and hardship across Wolverhampton. One fan who has already signed up for the virtual Sleepout is five-year-old Herbie, who will be sleeping out with his dad Connor in their living room. Connor said: “It’s great that Herbie can now be part of the Sleepout. "We’re both big Wolves fans and know of the great work that both charities to do for Wolverhampton. "He’s excited to camp out in our living room and do his bit to help others.” Laura Cahill, Business Development Manager at the Good Shepherd said: "We are delighted that so many people have already signed up for this year’s Sleepout, but now there is an opportunity for others to join in, who may not be able to get to Molineux. “Hopefully this is something that might appeal to families with younger children, or fans overseas, who will be able to follow some of the event online whilst supporting both charities.” Tom Hayden, Chief executive at Good Shepherd said: “The Molineux Sleepout is a standout event in our calendar that raises important funds for both charities. Whether you’re in the stand or at home, your support will help us to continue our work with those experiencing homelessness.” Now in its seventh year, the Molineux Sleepout has already raised more than £250,000, supporting initiatives to help some of the most disadvantaged people in Wolverhampton. This year, organisers said the aim is to attract more than 200 participants, the biggest number ever to take part in the event. As an added incentive, all participants in the Sleepout who have raised more than £250 by midnight on Friday, November 28 will go into a prize draw to win a pair of tickets for the home game with Brentford on December 20, while all taking part in the Virtual Sleepout who raise more than £100 will be entered into a draw for a signed football.
