Super Bowl 60 halftime performer announced

International music icon and Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny will perform the halftime show at Super Bowl LX in California in February, the NFL announced Sunday.
Super Bowl LX will be played at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on Sunday, Feb. 8. The game will air on NBC. The halftime show featuring Bad Bunny will be sponsored by Apple Music, according to a news release from the NFL.
“What I’m feeling goes beyond myself,” Bad Bunny said in the release. “It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture, and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL.”
Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl LX halftime show will be produced by DPS, according to the release. Jay Z’s entertainment company Roc Nation and Jesse Collins will serve as executive producers, and Hamish Hamilton will serve as director.
Bad Bunny previously performed at the Super Bowl as a featured artist alongside headliners Shakira and Jennifer Lopez at Super Bowl LIV in Miami in Feb. 2020.
Previous Super Bowl halftime headlining performers include Kendrick Lamar, Usher, Rihanna, Eminem, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, The Weeknd, Maroon 5, Travis Scott, Big Boi, Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga and Coldplay.
“Bad Bunny is one of the most popular artists in the world in and outside of Latin music,” said Malcolm X Abram, entertainment and music reporter for cleveland.com / The Plain Dealer. “He is multiple Grammy and Latin Grammy winner who sells out arenas and stadiums and he was the most streamed artist in the world for two years in a row. He will surely represent Puerto Rico well and with pride.”
