Sumit Wadhva and Luv Khattri clinched the men’s doubles crown in the 30+ category as they rose to the occasion in style at the Lucknow Open Pickleball – an Indian Pickleball Association (IPA) sanctioned PWR 50 event – at the vibrant Let’s Pickle venue in Lucknow on Sunday. The duo delivered under pressure to edge past Anchal and Anshul Garg 11-9 in a thrilling finale. It was a contest that had the crowd on edge till the very last point, but Sumit and Luv’s grit saw them through to the top prize. For their triumph, the champions pocketed Rs 5,000, while runners-up Anchal and Anshul walked away with Rs 3,000, capping off a spirited campaign that kept the champions honest all the way. The Lucknow Open stands as a significant milestone for pickleball in Uttar Pradesh, providing both competitive exposure and professional recognition for its participants. With its mix of first-time PWR players, balanced competition across singles and doubles, and attractive prize money, the tournament is poised to energize the city’s pickleball community. The two-day event concluded on Sunday.
