Giriraj Parihar from Bhopal excelled in the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) State Service Examination-2024, securing the 8th rank and the position of Deputy Collector. Remarkably, Giriraj was a constable in the MP Police before achieving this distinguished position. Coming from a humble farming family, his career journey is truly inspiring. Giriraj achieved this position through relentless hard work while serving as a jail guard and police constable. Throughout his nine years of government service, he never gave up and attained success through self-study. Beginning his career as a jail guard in 2015, he later became a cyber cell constable in the MP Police. He started preparing for the MPPSC in 2019 and passed the MPPSC-2022 exam, securing the position of Assistant Director of Education (ADE). However, dissatisfied with his rank, he tried again. Balancing his studies with his job, Giriraj prepared in a short time and succeeded. Speaking to News18 Hindi, Giriraj shared, “This journey was not easy for me, as I had to prepare along with my job. But, from day one, I was determined to clear the MPPSC and become a Deputy Collector. Last time I was selected, but I was not satisfied with the rank, so I kept trying. Normal candidates study full time, but I prepared in a quarter of the time.” He added, “I don’t have any administrative experience yet, but I will perform better based on what I am taught in training.” Giriraj’s success serves as an example for young people, especially those preparing for competitive exams while working. In MPPSC-2024, five women were selected for 13 deputy collector positions. A total of 110 candidates have successfully cleared the Madhya Pradesh State Public Service Examination 2024. Among them, 24-year-old Devanshu Shivhare from Vijaypur in Sheopur district secured the top position for the second time, having previously cracked MPPSC in 2022.
