Strike settled, Farm Aid to play on 

The strike is over with the Teamsters at the University of Minnesota. According to KSTP, “on Friday at midnight, Teamsters Local 320 negotiating committee approved a tentative agreement, which will be sent to University Teamsters for ratification. The strike, which had lasted five days, has come to an end, and picketing has ceased on all university campuses.” While union workers will see wage increases over the next three years, it also means that the 40th celebration of Farm Aid will continue as planned.

Minimum wage in North Dakota continues to languish at a 16-year plateau, according to InForum. The state follows the federal minimum wage wage of $7.25, while its neighbors are at least $3 an hour higher.

Annunciation Catholic School is welcoming students back three weeks after a mass shooting there killed two children and injured at least 21 other people, KARE 11 reports. “The school is resuming some on-campus activities beginning this Tuesday, a spokesperson for the parish said. There will be ‘activities centered on support, connection, and play.’”

Now that it’s harvest season, corn mazes are winding there way through Minnesota fields. The Minnesota Star Tribune has a list of 10 corn mazes that will delight adventurous souls this fall.
