Strictly's Thomas Skinner dealt major blow as 'household brand take legal action'

Thomas Skinner has been dealt a huge blow by a very famous household brand, it has been reported. The Strictly Come Dancing star is known for his phrase “Bosh” and had even hoped to launch a homeware collection, consisting of bedding and candles, linked to his phrase. But the top electrical firm, Bosch, has allegedly stopped this, feeling that Thomas’ phrase was extremely similar to their brand name, which is attached to everyday items such as washing machines, televisions, dishwashers, vacuums, and spare parts. It’s claimed that lawyers for the German company have now forced Thomas to change the name linked to his homeware collection. Thomas often uses the phrase “Bosh” on his various social media platforms and said it while he appeared on BBC’s The Apprentice in 2019, where he finished in ninth place alongside Marianne Rawlins. “Thomas has huge plans for the Bosh name and wanted to attribute the name to a number of hustles,” a source said. They went on to add: “But as his profile and social media following grew, Bosch got wind of it and put their lawyers on the case.” “A names tribunal forced Thomas to back down, and he was powerless to stop it,” they continued to The Sun. Skinner, 34, is currently appearing on Strictly Come Dancing and is paired with Amy Dowden, but has attracted his fair share of controversy since he was announced for the flagship entertainment programme. Most recently, he admitted to cheating on his wife Sinead, just weeks after the pair said “I do”. The businessman met with a woman at a pub when she offered him “cosmetic slimming treatments” before they engaged in a two-week fling back in May 2022. He later said that his wife and children are the best thing to have happened to him, leaving him filled with guilt after cheating with Amy-Lucy O’Rourke. “I’m so lucky she forgave me,” he said of his wife. Thomas went on to add: “It was the worst thing I’ve ever had to do. It was terrible, I’m a very, very open book, and I don’t hide anything from my wife. She was obviously distraught, upset.” Prior to his admission, he sparked controversy due to his friendship with American Vice President JD Vance, with whom he dined while Vance was holidaying in the UK with his family. Speaking about the backlash he has faced, Thomas penned on X, formerly known as Twitter : “Life ain’t easy. I’ve been kicked down an called every name under the sun recently and probably some of it I deserve, as yes I ain’t always right. “But since I got invited to have a BBQ with JD Vance….its gone crazy. Certain people are doing everythin they can to ruin me. Mainly Faceless accounts givin it large and abusing me, hypocrites making everything political. Now I see people are fumin that I’m on Strictly…. and the funny thing is that the majority of them got ‘be kind’ wrote in their bios. You couldn’t make it up.” He went on to state that he “won’t be cancelled” nor bring harm to himself, which he claims some people have wished. Thomas went on to type: “I’m still here. I’m still standin. Trust me when I say this; I am stronger than people think. Every insult, every lie, every attack….it don’t break me, it builds me stronger.” The Mirror has approached representatives for Thomas and Bosch for comment. Like this story?
