Strictly Come Dancing’s Vito Coppola has revealed that he and Ellie Goldstein were left feeling ‘a bit low’ after a star’s injury. It was revealed during the series annual launch show that professional dancer Vito will be teaching model and actress Ellie the art of dance. Ellie, 23, is making history competing on the 23rd season of Strictly , becoming the first person with Down syndrome to do so. Going on to work on campaigns with Nike, Vodafone and Superdrug, Ellie began her modelling career when she was just 15 years old. Having also appeared on the covers of Glamour, Elle, Mission Mag and Euphoria magazines, Ellie made history as the first model with Down syndrome to grace the cover of British Vogue in 2023. With just days to go until the first live show of Strictly’s latest series, former Love Island winner Dani Dyer pulled out of the programme on Tuesday (September 23) due to injury. Dani, who was partnered with Nikita Kuzmin said: “I had a fall on Friday in rehearsals and landed funny. I thought I had rolled my foot but it swelled up badly over the weekend and after an MRI scan yesterday, it turns out I have fractured my ankle. “Apparently doing the quickstep on a fracture is not advisable (!!) and the doctors have said I am not allowed to dance so l’ve had to pull out of the show. “To say I’m heartbroken is the biggest understatement. I am so going to miss dancing with Nikita but will of course be watching closely and cheering all the couples on.” As the rest of the stars continue to train ahead of Saturday night’s (September 27) episode, Vito and Ellie sent a message to Dani on his Instagram story. “So this morning we decided to do a little video to wish a good recovery to Dani Dyer because Ellie this morning was a bit low. “She said ‘I was looking forward to his weekend to see Dani and Nikita’. Now, we want to wish them the best recovery because health first. “We have to look after ourselves and hopefully we’re going to see Dani soon and we’re going to give her a big hug,” Vito said. Ellie added: “In the audience watching us dance maybe. Get well soon Dani.” Earlier in the day, Vito shared a video of him and Ellie continuing their training, this time dancing to Shakira’s Waka Waka. “Good morniiiiiing beautiful people. We want to wish you a good day, full of joy, happiness and smiles #keepdancing,” he stated.
