Strictly Come Dancing star Anita Rani says she’ll “never get over” her stint on the show. Anita, 48, appeared on the BBC show 10 years ago, being eliminated from the show a fortnight before the final. The Countryfile star appeared alongside professional dancer Gleb Savchenko. The series saw The Wanted star Jay McGuiness, partnered with Aliona Vilani, lifting the famous Glitterball Trophy. Coronation Street actress Georgia May Foote and EastEnders star Kellie Bright came runners-up on the show. Anita however believes she was “robbed” and should have made it to the final with Aliona. Speaking to The Sun’s TV Magazine, she said: “I wish I could do it again – I think they should bring back ‘the robbed’! I’ll never get over it, I should have got to the final.” Anita faced off against BBC presenter Katie Derham in the dreaded dance-off in the semi-final of Strictly. However Katie, paired with Anton Du Beke, made it through to the final evening. Anita says she used to say “no” to reality shows such as Strictly but has recently decided to embrace them should the “offer arise”. She has since appeared on the likes of Celebrity Gogglebox, The Chase, and Blankety Blank. She admits she would even consider appearing on the Celebrity Traitors should the BBC bring the show back for a second series. It comes as Anita, alongside her dad Bal, is set to appear on Celebrity Race Across the World. She added: “I used to say no to other reality shows, but now I’m like: ‘If an offer arises, why not?’ The Traitors, I’m A Celeb… But I’ll tell you what me and Dad want to do next – Antiques Road Trip. Let’s put that out there!” Ahead of appearing on the travel show, Anita admitted she wanted her dad to have “an adventure”. She told the BBC: “We get on, he makes me laugh and if I ever want help in making a decision, dad's the person I call. “Also, I want dad to have the experience. It's about my dad having an adventure - he's never had one before. I think we’re competitive, but I think we're just really keen to have an amazing experience and give it our best shot.” The Woman’s Hour star says she is in a “new era” at the moment after “confirming” her new romance with boyfriend Alex Lavery. It comes two years after her split from husband Bhupi Rehal. The former couple had been married for 14 years when they called time on their relationship. After their separation, she told Love Sunday Magazine: “'Life is good, I'm in a good place. I'm focusing on myself and my own wants. “It's nice to be able to think about the second phase of my life. I've been calling it Chapter Two.”
