Sunday night marked the end of the road for another celebrity on Strictly Come Dancing as someone became the sixth person to leave the BBC show. Over the weekend, viewers saw the remaining contestants reach the halfway mark in the competition, with viewers fearful for Karen Carney after she was given the 'death slot' on the programme. However, the sports star managed to escape the dreaded dance-off on Sunday night as it was Harry Aikines-Aryeetey and La Voix who found themselves in the bottom two. Both couples had to perform their routines once again, with La Voix and Aljaž taking to the dancefloor for a Foxtrot while Harry and Karen Hauer performed their Samba. When it came down to the judges' vote, it was a unanimous decision as Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, and Anton Du Beke all opted to save La Voix. Motsi Mabuse, who had the casting vote this week, confirmed that she'd have also chosen to save La Voix and Aljaž. The Gladiator star had nothing but praise when speaking about his time on the competition as he told Tess Daly: "I think, first things, I just want to thank Karen, genuinely, you have given me an opportunity to shine. "You've understood my crazy brain. I'm such a logical person, trying to dance - and obviously doing what I do - Olympic sprinter, Gladiator - now I'm trying to be a dancer. I just want to thank you so much for the time and effort, the hard work that you've given to me. "You show up, you turn out. I want to thank everyone here. Literally, this has been a dream come true." The BBC star recalled how his daughter didn't like seeing him upset last week, but he wanted to show everyone that there's a silver lining no matter what happens. He added: "But this is an experience for me. So, thank you for this lovely gift, and at the end of the day, we carry on, we give it to them, and we continue to shine. Do you know what I mean?" Karen emphasised how proud she was of Harry, highlighting how much fun they've had in the competition so far. She added: "You're such a gentleman, you're a hard worker, you listen, and you get into those times where I don't know what you were thinking, but you know what? "I loved you in every kind of way because of the person that you are, and it was an honour to teach you, so thank you so much." Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 6:25pm on Saturday 15 November, with the results show on Sunday 16 November at 7:15pm.
