A Strictly Come Dancing star has come under fire after they seemed to take a cheeky swipe at some of the other contestants’ previous dance experience. The hit BBC dancing competition returned to the BBC this evening (October 4) with the second live show of the series, with hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman. With new celebrities taking to the stage to show off their dancing skills to judges Shirley Ballas , Anton Du Beke, Motsi Mabuse, and Craig Revel Horwood, the first elimination is set to take place on Sunday. Opening the show tonight was La Voix and partner Aljaz Skorjanec with a jive. However, La Voix soon came under fire for her comments on other contestants from last week. Speaking about Karen and Lewis’ Jive last week, she said their performance was “incredible,” adding: “One’s an athlete, one was doing tap in Billy Elliot, all I’ve done is JD Sports once a week, and the only tap I know is in Screwfix, it’s terrible, Claudia.” However, her comments did not go down well with fans. Taking to X, one fan said: “Not sure I like the little dig at other contestants there, especially as a performer on stage – hmm.” Another wrote: “La Voix throwing clear shade at Amber and Lewis, referencing their previous dance experience. That’s not going to go down well.” A third added: “Yes, La Voix calling out the hypocrisy of having trained dancers on the show!!” A fourth commented: “La Voix saying that she did a great jive last week because she’s an athlete. No La Voix. She did it well because she’s got Lioness grit and determination!” La Voix is known for her witty remarks on the show, as fans have said they “love to see” what the star will come out with next. She even made a comment about Tess’s outfit of choice this evening as the host opted for a red suit. After their dance had finished, Tess said, “One thing’s for sure, you still know how to put on a show.” La Voix replied: “Thank you, and you clearly used to work at Butlins.” She added, “It catches on the red, it catches on.” And one fan praised online: “La Voix coming for Tess each week is so funny. She needs to make the final for this alone.” Another added: “la voix might actually be the funniest thing to happen to this show omg.” Last week, it was an ex-footballer securing her place at the top of the leaderboard with pro dancer Carlos Gu, with their impressive score of 31 for their jive, while Lewis Cope and Katya Jones took second place. At the bottom of the leader board, it was Lorrain’s Ross King and dance partner Jowita PrzystaÅ‚. Despite no elimination last week, the judges still gave their critiques and scores, which will be carried over to this week. As the new series kicks off, the bookmakers have been sharing their predictions about who will be sent home first, and it’s not looking good for Thomas and Amy. Betway also believes that YouTuber George Clarke could be the one to lift the Glitterball trophy this year. Strictly Come Dancing returns on Sunday on BBC One.
