Amber Davies has addressed the romance rumours surrounding herself and her Strictly Come Dancing partner Nikita Kuzmin. The 29 year old, who is now a musical theatre star after shooting to fame as the winner of Love Island in 2017, is in a relationship with Ben Joyce , but reportedly has been spotted 'getting close' to her co-star Nikita in recent days, even though he is currently dating model Lauren Jaine. Amber and Nikita almost kissed towards the end of their Argentine tango routine earlier in the BBC competition, leading to fans wondering whether the pair could be the latest to fall for the Strictly curse. However, addressing the rumours, Amber said: "The only good thing is Ben is not a***d. So I feel like I can brush it off as it is not affecting us in any way which is nice. I mean he is horizontal Ben. I love Lauren, Nikita's girlfriend so much. I text her all the time. All day, every day." Speaking about her close friendship with Nikita's other half, Amber continued to The Sun : "Lauren spends more time with me than her fella. She actually came into my dressing room before she went to see Nikita [the other day]. I have stolen her!" Amber and boyfriend Ben have been dating since they met working on the West End stage adaptation of Back To The Future in 2022. Amber, who has also starred on Dancing On Ice , trained at a prestigious London drama school before Love Island, and has starred in a UK tour of Pretty Woman: The Musical, and recently completed a stint in the West End production of The Great Gatsby. Just days before Amber was confirmed as a replacement on Strictly for Dani Dyer , it was announced that she had landed the leading role of Elle Woods in a new touring production of Legally Blonde: The Musical. According to an insider at Elstree Studios, where Strictly is filmed, Amber and Nikita are in 'their own little world' both off stage and on. They said: "The couple are described as being locked in their own little world at times and the chemistry between them has raised eyebrows amongst their Strictly colleagues," and also noted that there is an 'undeniable spark' between the Love Island winner and her partner. Despite this, Amber has previously stressed that her boyfriend has no worries about her performing passionate routines with Nikita. She said: "It's normal in our industry, I've watched him kiss someone else on stage, he has watched me fall in love with somebody on stage. My boyfriend is obsessed with this dance; he thinks it's the best routine I have done."
