Strictly Come Dancing's Alexis Warr praises rarely-seen husband in sweet tribute

Alexis Warr has been offering her new followers a peek into her personal life as she steps onto the Strictly Come Dancing stage for the first time. The professional dancer recently confessed to feeling like the 'new kid at school' as she joined the popular BBC One dance programme this year, which saw Dani Dyer forced to withdraw, alongside fellow newcomer Julian Caillon. The American sensation Alexis is best known for her victory in the US dance series So You Think You Can Dance in 2022, where she was crowned 'America's Favourite Dancer', becoming the first female Ballroom and Latin dancer to win the title. She has showcased her skills as a guest Professional Dancer and as part of the dance troupe on the US version of Strictly, Dancing With The Stars, and has participated in the series' accompanying US tour for the past three years. Alexis has also graced the stage on America's Got Talent, World of Dance, and on national tours across the States - including three with Dancing With The Stars judge Derek Hough, as well as his Las Vegas residency, reports the Manchester Evening News . Alexis and Julian, who has featured as a pro dancer on three seasons of Australia's Dancing With The Stars, toured the world with the hit dance show Burn The Floor, and also competed on So You Think You Can Dance in Australia, made their ballroom debut during the Strictly 2025 launch show last weekend. During the show, they were unveiled to have celebrity partners for their inaugural year on the show, with Julian paired with EastEnders star Balvinder Sopal, while Alexis is joining forces with YouTuber George Clarke. Beyond the dance floor, both stars have been documenting their adjustment to British life through social media updates. However, Alexis appeared to feel quite at home as she explored London's landmarks with her spouse, Jake Burton. Posting an adorable couple's snapshot to her Instagram Story, Alexis gushed: "Grateful for your support, your love, YOU [heart emoji] @jakeburt0n." Alexis and her teenage romance Jake exchanged vows in 2018, and recently she shared a heartfelt birthday message celebrating her other half. Accompanied by romantic photos of the duo, she posted on Instagram: "Happy Birthday to my best friend and forever love. From high school sweethearts to nearly 7 years of marriage, life with you is my greatest gift. "Thank you for chasing dreams with me, lifting me up, and loving me the way you do. I'm so lucky to call you mine. I love you endlessly." Strictly Come Dancing airs this Saturday on BBC One from 6:55pm.
