COWBOYS – BEARS Matchup Preview
The Cowboys (1-1) turned to the reliable foot of kicker Brandon Aubrey to squeeze out a 40-37 victory over the New York Giants on Sept. 14.
The Dallas offense under new head coach Brian Schottenheimer has shown flashes of being one of the strongest in the league. It is averaging 30 points per game, which is fifth in the NFL.
Prescott has racked up 549 yards and two touchdowns with one interception. His 64.8 QBR is 14th in the NFL.
His receiving corps could explode with a favorable matchup for All-Pro receiver CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens. Lamb has 16 receptions for 222 yards. Pickens has eight receptions for 98 yards and one touchdown.
Running back Javonte Williams has bullied his way with 33 carries for 151 yards and three touchdowns.
On the other side, the Cowboys defense under former Bears head coach Matt Eberflus was shredded for 450 passing yards by Russell Wilson in last week’s barnburner against the Giants. The unit utilizes zone coverage on an NFL-high 87.4% of plays.
Dallas’ defense will once again be without DaRon Bland, who continues to nurse a foot injury.
