Stray Kids, SEVENTEEN To BTS: K-Pop Artists Dominating Billboard’s World Albums Chart

The K-pop wave shows no signs of slowing down across the world. With their powerful music, heartfelt lyrics, electrifying performances, and stunning visuals, K-pop groups have taken the world by storm. And the recent ranking on Billboard’s World Albums chart for the week ending Saturday, October 25, is proof. The chart, which lists the most popular albums by artists worldwide, once again underscores the genre’s dominance. According to the rankings, Stray Kids is leading the chart with their latest album, titled Karma. They have held onto the No. 1 position for eight consecutive weeks on the World Albums chart. Additionally, their fourth Korean-language album, released on August 22, has reached No. 51 on the Billboard 200 chart. In total, the eight-member band has five albums on the chart this week, which include Hop at No. 8, ATE (EP) at No. 12, ROCK-STAR at No. 20, and 5-Star at No. 23. SEVENTEEN’s Sub-Unit CXM Made Their Debut On The Chart Other names on the World Albums chart include SEVENTEEN’s newest sub-unit CxM (S.Coups and Mingyu), whose debut mini-album HYPE VIBES entered the chart at No. 2 last week. The sub-unit also broke a 13-year record on the Billboard 200 chart, becoming the highest ranking ever achieved by a K-pop sub-unit. Also, SEVENTEEN’s album HAPPY BURSTDAY climbed to No. 16 in its 18th week. Meanwhile, BigHit Music’s new boy band CORTIS also entered the chart with their debut EP, COLOUR OUTSIDE THE LINES. The album secured third place in its sixth week on the chart. Tomorrow x Together (TXT), who released their fourth Korean-language studio album, The Star Chapter: Together, in July, managed to secure the No. 4 position in its 13th week on the chart. ENHYPEN followed at No. 5 with their EP, DESIRE: UNLEASH, whereas their previous album, ROMANCE: UNTOLD, returned to the chart at No. 15. BTS’ Proof Secured No. 6 Position Despite not releasing any new music, BTS impressed with their presence on the World Albums chart. Their 2022 anthology album Proof secured No. 6 position in its 175th week on the chart, while Jimin’s solo album MUSE held steady at No. 9. On the other hand, Jin’s second solo album, Echo, secured the 19th position, whereas the group’s recently released live album, PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE – LIVE, held the 24th position. ILLIT’s bomb ranked at No. 7 in its 17th week on the chart. Rising groups and soloists also entered the global chart. ZEROBASEONE’s NEVER SAY NEVER stayed at No. 10 this week, while NewJeans’ Get Up ranked at No. 14. TWICE’s Chaeyoung’s solo debut album LIL FANTASY vol. 1 climbed to the seventeenth position, while ATEEZ’s GOLDEN HOUR: Part 3 came in at No. 22.
