Storm Amy is set to hit the UK with Wales to be battered by high winds and heavy rain. A Met Office weather warning will kick in this afternoon – with travel disruption expected.
The Met Office has issued a more severe amber warning for Scotland which also comes into force this evening. In Wales there is a yellow warning for wind – with gusts of over 60mph expected on the coast and other exposed areas.
Preparations are already being made for the storm with warnings the Britannia Bridge could be closed to all vehicles except cars later this evening.
