GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP — Constitutional scholar and media commentator Mary McCord will discuss “Executive Overreach and the Erosion of the Rule of Law” during Stockton University’s 19th annual Constitution Day program at 6 p.m. Monday in the Campus Center Event Room.
McCord is the executive director of the Institute for Constitutional Advocacy and Protection and a visiting professor of law at Georgetown University Law Center. She has worked with a range of constitutional law cases, including those dealing with First Amendment rights, immigration, criminal justice reform, combating political violence and protecting democratic processes.
She also has written about domestic terrorism, unlawful militia activity, public safety and the rule of law for publications including the Washington Post, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times and The Atlantic, and has appeared on NPR, PBS, MSNBC, CNN, ABC and other media outlets.
She is an MSNBC and NBC legal and national security contributor, and co-host of the MSNBC podcast “Prosecuting Donald Trump,” now renamed “Main Justice.”
The William J. Hughes Center for Public Policy sponsors the annual event, along with the American Democracy Project at Stockton, the Stockton University Foundation, the Office of Development and Alumni Relations and the Office of the Provost.
