The 28-year-old Brentford FC defender was named in the Reggae Boyz’ provisional 26-man squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifier against Trinidad and Tobago (T&T) here on Thursday at 7:00 pm Jamaica time. However, that debut is now in doubt as the approval process is unlikely to be completed in time. Head coach Steve McClaren confirmed that Henry travelled to Jamaica earlier this week to finalise his documents with the Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency before joining the team for their trip to Trinidad. “Everything has gone smoothly on our end,” McClaren said on Saturday after naming the squad. Henry’s addition was expected to boost Jamaica’s defensive options, as he is one of two Brentford players in the squad, with Ethan Pinnock. Although Henry is doubtful to face T&T, a timely approval from the EFA could see him debut when Jamaica host Curaçao in the final qualifier in Kingston on Tuesday.
