DALTON — Citing philosophical concerns, Steve Sears has resigned from the Massachusetts Fisheries and Wildlife board, of which he has served as chairman for the past three years.
Sears, a Dalton resident, said he was stepping down after Department of Fish and Game and MassWildlife staff declined to hold a public hearing on three regulations that had been proposed by the board.
“I can’t work in an environment where I’ve been asked to do something given the power and that’s usurped,” Sears told The Eagle.
