Stern Pinball raises some corpses with The Walking Dead Remastered

Stern Pinball has spent the last several years making technologically advanced machines based on some new and exciting properties. However, the company doesn't want to leave too many of its beloved classics behind. With that in mind, Stern has teamed up with AMC Networks to create a new version of one of its more beloved machines. The Walking Dead Remastered is shambling to various locations starting today, ready to take a bite out of a new generation of pinball players. The Walking Dead Remastered is designed to be a modernized version of the original Walking Dead pinball machine, one that runs on the new SPIKE 3 technology platform. Expect to see various enhancements, like a new version of the Cell Block C prison building, a revamped bicycle girl ramp, an interactive Well Walker piece, and a redesigned crossbow that shoots the pinball into play. SPIKE 3 tech also means a more powerful processor, clearer high fidelity audio, and upgraded 3D-rendered graphics along an 18.5" HD display. While the newer table will feature new lighting effects and other visual upgrades, Stern is also focused on keeping the feel of the classic table. That includes retaining John Borg, who co-designed the original version of the game. Borg and his team have introduced some new gameplay rulesets that will have players battling through various Walking Dead locales and meeting different Walking Dead characters. Michael Rooker (Merle) and Danai Gurira (Michonne) have offered their voices for some extra authenticity. Of course, this being a Stern Pinball offering, expect to find Premium and Limited Edition versions of the game in the wild, the later utilizing an updated Expression Lighting System and Speaker Expression Lighting System for a more immersive experience. The Walking Dead Remastered should be making its way to various amusement establishments starting today. The Stern Pinball website can help interested players find exact locations.
