The Pittsburgh Steelers are currently 2-1 heading into their Week 4 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. Aaron Rodgers has looked solid, but the offense has had its ups and downs.
Since the beginning of the season, the Steelers have been rumored to have interest in making a move for another starting wide receiver. They acquired DK Metcalf in a blockbuster offseason trade with the Seattle Seahawks. Could they possibly look to make a midseason trade to bring in another weapon for Rodgers?
One option that has been brought up as a possible option for Pittsburgh is Miami Dolphins wideout Tyreek Hill. However, there are some major risks in pursuing a trade for Hill. That scenario doesn’t seem very likely.

Another potential target has been suggested for the Steelers. Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers has been mentioned as a potential player for Pittsburgh to trade for ahead of the deadline.

USA Today’s Nate Davis took a look at 10 potential trade candidates before the trade deadline. Meyers was one of those players and Davis mentioned the Steelers as the main team to watch.
“They’re already in go-for-it mode yet are getting little production from the wideout position beyond DK Metcalf and Calvin Austin III,” Davis wrote. “And, yes, the Steelers prefer to roll with multiple tight ends. But some additional offensive variance couldn’t hurt, and it might be wise to have another dynamic pass catcher for those inevitable scenarios when Aaron Rodgers and Co. have to make up a sizable deficit without the luxury of time.”
Meyers was looking to be traded away from the Raiders before the start of the season. It could be possible that Pittsburgh making the right offer might convince Las Vegas to move on from him.
So far this season in three games with the Raiders, Meyers has caught 17 passes for 228 yards. He has also recorded two carries for 23 yards on the ground.

At 28 years old, Meyers could be a nice long-term pickup for the Steelers as well. He would need a new contract, but it’s possible that Pittsburgh could lock in both Meyers and Metcalf moving forward.
Depending on the price tag that Las Vegas would be asking for in return, Meyers would be a great pickup for the Steelers. He’s a name worth monitoring if Pittsburgh decides to push all of its chips into the middle of the table and gun for a Super Bowl this season.
