Stats contradict Johnson Wagner’s claim as Collin Morikawa struggles to regain form

Since March, Collin Morikawa has struggled to find any sort of rhythm on the PGA Tour. Following his T-10 finish at The Players Championship, he managed just one other top-10 showing over the rest of 2025. The 28-year-old’s season has been anything but smooth sailing, marked by plenty of changes and challenges. Morikawa went through five different caddies during the 2025 campaign, adding to the sense of instability around him. His dip in form became glaringly obvious during the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black last month, where his struggles were hard to ignore. He hasn’t picked up a win since October 2023 and is now playing nowhere near the level that once made him a two-time major champion. While Morikawa pointed to poor putting as a key issue in 2025, there were certainly more problems than just his play on the greens holding him back. Johnson Wagner shares his thoughts on Morikawa’s future During an appearance on The 5 Clubs Podcast, Johnson Wagner was asked which of the struggling stars he thinks is most likely to rediscover top form. His response was straightforward. Morikawa, still only 28, has already made a huge impact in his career. Wagner believes that despite the rough patch, his fundamentals haven’t gone anywhere.
