Spinny’s FY25 losses widen 34% as rising expenses pressure bottom line
Tiger Global-backed Spinny’s loss for FY25 widened 34.4% to Rs 673.8 crore after the company had managed to narrow its losses in FY24.
Despite being in the red, the pre-owned car platform saw its revenue from contracts with customers rise 24.9% to Rs 4,650 crore during this period. The company also saw other support income and interest income during the period rise to Rs 101.5 crore compared to Rs 98.5 crore last year.
Women’s share in leadership positions climbs to 20%: Study
The tenth edition of Best Companies for Women in India listing, featuring 125 companies, has been released by workplace culture consulting and inclusion solutions company Avtar.
According to the findings, for the first time, women’s representation in leadership reaches 20%, even as overall women’s representation among Best Companies remains stable at 35.7%. Professional services leads with 44.6% of the workforce being women, followed by ITES with 41.7% women. Pharma with 25% of women, FMCG with 23% and manufacturing with 12% women are intensifying their inclusion efforts.
Edtech Vedantu adds $11M from existing investors amid ongoing round
Edtech firm Vedantu has raised $11 million in primary capital from existing investors through convertible notes, with the round led by ABC World Asia and participation from Accel and Omidyar Network, as part of a larger funding round that is still in progress.
Curefoods raises Rs 160 Cr from 3State Ventures ahead of IPO
Bengaluru-based Curefoods has raised Rs 160 crore in pre-IPO placement from 3State Ventures, the investment arm of Flipkart co-founder Binny Bansal.
The Singapore-based fund acquired 1.28 crore shares at Rs 124 each. The allotment, approved by Curefoods’ board on September 10 and by shareholders on September 15, will be adjusted against the company’s planned fresh issue under SEBI’s ICDR rules.
IIT Indore Arm, DHN Launch HealthTech Startup Challenge
Indore’s IITI Drishti CPS Foundation, a technology translation research park backed by the Department of Science and Technology, has teamed up with Digital Health Network (DHN) to launch a nationwide innovation challenge aimed at healthcare startups.
DHN HealthTech Innovation Challenge 2025 seeks to identify early-stage companies working on affordable, technology-driven healthcare solutions. Selected startups will receive mentorship, incubation, and pilot opportunities, along with access to industry networks and markets.
Flipkart strengthens ties with Uttar Pradesh’s ODOP scheme at trade show
Flipkart has expanded its collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh government’s Department of MSME and its One District One Product (ODOP) programme by participating in Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show 2025.
The five-day event, which runs from September 25–29 in Greater Noida, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. It brings together entrepreneurs, artisans, exporters, buyers, and industry groups to promote the state’s diverse product base.
Flipkart has set up a stall at the trade show to onboard small businesses, ODOP-linked enterprises, and GI-tagged sellers to its marketplace. Since 2020, the company has supported ODOP by creating microsites, offering training programmes, and providing digital tools to help artisans and weavers access national markets.
