A star has revealed that he almost gave up on a wrestling career before returning to WWE. Lately, fans have seen many wrestlers make sensational returns to the promotion and start a new chapter in their careers.The same thing happened with former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal, aka Raj Dhesi. After making his television debut for the promotion in 2011, Mahal floundered in the mid card and was part of the 3MB stable with Drew McIntyre and Heath Slater. He was eventually released from his contract in 2014.It was during this time that the Canadian-born wrestler contemplated whether he should continue to wrestle. During an interview on Click and Tell, he revealed that he was at a crossroads in his career before WWE called him."I had realized, like, either I'm going to have to commit, or I got to do something else with my life, like, I'm going to have to change career paths. It was the crossroads. So, I was like, you know what? Let me give it one last shot."And when I had decided I wasn't back with WWE, I was still an independent wrestler. It just changed everything. It was literally like one month after WWE called me to come back," he added.Mahal was re-signed by the sports entertainment giant in 2016 and placed on RAW. He revealed that he was initially brought back to fill roster space and not eventually become the WWE Champion, which happened in 2017.He mentioned that 10 months prior to this career-defining win, he wasn't signed with anybody and was looking at "opening up a business or something."You can watch the interview below:Jinder Mahal was released from WWE again in 2024Jinder Mahal's second stint with the Stamford-based promotion proved to be far more fruitful than his first run. He won the WWE Championship by beating Randy Orton and defended his Title successfully against him on two occasions.He held the Championship for nearly six months before dropping it to AJ Styles.
