Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the Tamil Nadu State Highways Authority (TANSHA) on Friday and released its logo. During an event in the Highways Research Station campus in Chennai, he also inaugurated Kalaignar Centenary Building constructed at a cost of ₹29 crore.
The new building spread over 5,500 sq.m. in Guindy would house the TANSHA and other key offices of the Highways Department. The State government established the TANSHA in 2024 to execute major road infrastructure projects through public-private partnership, including four-lane corridors and expressways.
Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin; Ministers E.V. Velu, S. Regupathy, KR. Periakaruppan, R.S. Rajakannappan and Ma. Subramanian; Mayor R. Priya; South Chennai MP Thamizhachi Thangapandian; MLAs A.M.V. Prabhakara Raja and senior officials were also present.
