Police are investigating a case of wounding with intent following a domestic dispute in Longdenville that left a 27-year-old man nursing a stab wound to the neck.
The victim was reportedly at home around 10 p.m. on Monday when he got into a heated argument with his common-law wife.
According to police reports, the altercation escalated into a physical fight during which the woman allegedly armed herself with a sharp object and stabbed the man on the left side of his neck.
Despite his injury, the man managed to drive himself to the Chaguanas Health Facility, where he was treated before being transferred to the Mt. Hope Health Facility.
Doctors confirmed that the man had suffered a laceration to the neck and bleeding in his lungs. The victim was said to be in a stable condition.
