St. Joan of Arc Catholic School to have ribbon-cutting event

Scott County Catholic Schools will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony for St. Joan of Arc Catholic School this Thursday.
The K-8 school, formerly Lourdes Catholic School and now at a new location, opened its doors for the very first time on Aug. 25. The new building replaces the former Lourdes building.
St. Joan of Arc began its development in 2023 after SCCS bought the property at Criswell Street and Hopewell Avenue in northeast Bettendorf. A new building was built on site through partnership with engineering firm IMEG.
The 73,800 square feet building has two floors with “state-of-the-art” art and music facilities, classrooms, STEM labs, a chapel, gymnasium and 50,000 square foot playground alongside it, according to IMEG’s website.
SCCS did not respond to a request for comment by deadline Tuesday.
The subsidized tuition is $6,075 a year and $8,505 per year if unsubsidized. Parents can also get state funding through Iowa Education Savings Accounts.
The ribbon-cutting event will not be open to the public but will be available to stream on the St. John Vianney Church – Bettendorf YouTube page at 10 a.m.
