The Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA), Brihanmumbai office recently conducted an interaction session titled, “Policy, Technology, Innovation & Digital Services for Seamless Interaction” in collaboration with the Practicing Engineers, Architects and Town Planners Association). Dr. Mahendra Kalyankar (IAS), CEO, SRA, Brihanmumbai, said, “Our objective is to build a transparent, efficient, and digitally empowered environment where architects, engineers, and developers work together for swift and result-oriented project execution—ensuring timely rehabilitation housing for slum dwellers.” The session highlighted various online systems and digital platforms introduced by SRA to simplify approval processes and ensure efficient communication. Across four interaction sessions, around 125 architects participated and received detailed insights. The discussions covered digital application and approval processes, online service delivery modules for faster execution, project tracking and monitoring tools, compliance mechanisms, and 15–20 digital facilities promoting strategic transparency and stakeholder coordination. Participants lauded SRA’s proactive and collaborative approach, and discussed ways to further enhance coordination and efficiency. The session emphasised the importance of technology-driven administration for timely and effective project completion.
