Spring Hotels Shares Expansion and Sustainability Vision with Irish Media at Sir Anthony Hotel, Tenerife

ITTN’s Lorraine Hales was in Tenerife on a Spring Hotels FAM trip, aimed at showcasing the group’s current offerings, future expansion plans, and ongoing sustainability initiatives in Tenerife. The media group had a wonderful meeting with Jo Robinson Commercial Director in the fabulous surroundings of the Sir Anthony boutique hotel in the recently acquired mare Nostrum resort. Jo thas been with the Spring Hotel Group for 16 years and gave a wonderful overview of the plans for renovation going forward in 2026 starting with The Cleopatra Hotel which will shut for 8 months in order to complete the transformation. There is tangible excitement as she talks about groups exciting pans to expand and the aim is to have 10 properties in the portfolio by 2028. The staffing levels are always difficult to maintain but the group have plans underfoot to offer additional compensation for split shifts and also they hope to have an apartment complex that will accommodate staff who work in the resorts. Each of the hotels have a unique story and a defined market so she doesn’t see the hotels being in competition with each other but rather that the spring Hotels group will service a wider market. Jo lives and breathes Tenerife her enthusiasm is infectious and her passion for both her job and the promotion of tourism in the Island where she calls home is to be admired. Tourism and the benefit it brings to the local area is key to the huge investments being made by the group who have a considerable amount of investors behind them. When asked about their sustainability and conservation efforts she was keen to enlighten us about the installation of water coolers on every floor of every property reducing plastic bottle is for water by 75%. Each toilet has double flush systems which has conserved the amount of water used per flush. The use of large shower gels, shampoo and Conditioner in the shower has also reduced the amount of consumables used in the properties. Air conditioning systems shutting when balcony doors are open. They use seeded notebooks that can be planted after every little helps! The hotels are committed to conserving the Birds of the island Cory’s Shearwater as they get ready to migrate after breeding season in October and November each year. Each hotel reduces their outdoor lighting to avoid the babies being distracted by the lights on their migration journey to Southern Africa . When asked what key message she would like us to take home from trade she responded with following “our ethos, our culture , no one knows the island better then we do – We are based here and are on hand there resolve issues for agents on the spot. Spring Hotel Group is Tenerife at heart! the island, the culture, the product. We use local providers, local produce and the product on offer bears every essence of the islands rich culture all based in the principality of Arona. What is unique about the spring group is we are invested in the culture and the island is my home! We are hugely involved with local initiatives “Spring in motion ” takes in local culture, tourism, sport and mental health services including a local dance group, reduced mobility volleyball, triathlon.” Ultimately Spring gives back to the community! Freinds of Spring platform gives full information and access to factsheets for each property. We then took a tour to one of the rooms that includes a rooftop plunge pool and loungers on a separate level. The luxury and the exquisite design of these rooms created a well deserved and audible wow as we entered giving definite bucket list vibes for a stay with the Sir Arthur. After the group retired for a drink at the Paloma Beach Club which is part of the Sir Anthony Hotel and guests can eat and drink here whilst charging to their room. Giving a very relaxed dining option direct on the beach with stunning views.
