Ghana’s Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to grassroots sports development after attending the inaugural Yingor Cup in Dabala, South Tongu District, on September 13-14, 2025.
The two-day football tournament showcased local talent and community spirit.
Yingor FC won the first-ever Yingor Cup title by beating Cule FC 8-7 on penalties in the final.
Minister Adams stressed that grassroots football is key to Ghana’s national sports ecosystem.
The Ministry aims to strengthen grassroots sports through talent identification, community engagement, equipment, funding, and technical expertise.
“Grassroots football is the heartbeat of our national sports ecosystem. By supporting community tournaments like the Yingor Cup, we are investing in the future of Ghanaian sports.”
