Sponsors of the Citi Business Olympics 2025 have expressed their commitment to partner with Channel One TV and Citi FM for the 2026 edition, citing the visibility, networking opportunities, and excitement they derived from this year’s event.
The 2025 edition took place at the Eden Heights Sports Complex in Accra, bringing together hundreds of professionals from across corporate Ghana for the nation’s biggest annual sporting festival. The day began with a lively aerobics session and a health walk before companies competed in football, athletics, chess, arm wrestling, sack races, and other disciplines.
Head of Corporate Communications at UMB, Edem Knight-Tay, described the event as a memorable experience, pointing out that UMB made one of its strongest showings yet as a sponsor of the Olympics.
She added: “When we show up, we show up loud and we are always in charge. We are certainly going to go home with a lot of medals,” she said, adding that UMB would consider returning as a sponsor in 2026.
Founder of Syde Hassle by EK Brand Consult, Elorm Foli, also praised the collaboration with Citi FM/Channel One TV, highlighting the networking opportunities it created.
“As usual, the partnership has been excellent… above and beyond what we expected. As long as we have the budget for it, we’ll definitely sponsor next year,” he said.
Gyasi Wiafe, Head of Pricing and Business Development at Bethel Logistics, pointed to the company’s long-standing relationship with Citi FM/Channel One TV as the basis for their continued support.
He indicated that management was likely to approve sponsorship again next year, given the mileage the company has received.
“We are already winners of the arm wrestling medal and the men’s sack race, and we hope to walk away with the ultimate trophy,” he added.
Williams Joshua, Business Innovation and Strategy Manager at Hallmark Café, described the experience as exciting and rewarding.
“It’s going really well so far—it’s fun, energetic, and we’re meeting new people, especially at the CEO Lounge where we’ve made a lot of contacts for future partnerships. Every business wants to collaborate to grow, and I look forward to sponsoring the 2026 edition. The energy here has been fantastic, from the soccer and basketball to the board games and everything else,” he said.
Nick Danso Osei, IT Manager at Danpong Healthcare, highlighted the benefits of the partnership with Citi FM/Channel One TV.
“Citi FM has a wide coverage with many viewers and listeners, and this collaboration has given us a strong platform to showcase Danpong as a health facility and what we do. It has brought us great visibility, which will last well beyond this event. The partnership is truly beneficial to our facility,” he said.
He added that Danpong is committed to returning as a sponsor for the 2026 edition. “We will definitely sign on next year, not just to sponsor but also to actively participate and hopefully win more awards than we did this year. I’m very confident we’ll take a medal in arm wrestling, and our basketball team is still in contention. For the other events, it didn’t go as well, but we are optimistic that next year will be even better.”
This year’s Olympics saw most of the participating companies walk away with medals, reinforcing the event’s reputation as not only a competitive sporting festival but also a platform for teamwork, networking, and corporate visibility.
