Spanish Tourism Office Launches ‘Spain Talks in Ireland’ Sustainable Tourism Event Series

The Spanish Tourism Office in Dublin has announced the first edition of Spain Talks in Ireland, that will take place on Thursday, 13 November 2025, at the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel. Spain Talks is a series of events organised by Tourspain, the official body promoting Spain as a tourist destination with the objective of highlighting and promoting the sustainability initiatives that are transforming tourism. . With the slogan “Caring for the Future”, it has become a critical platform for exploring the latest developments in sustainability to enhance cooperation among industry experts. Already held in countries like the United Kingdom, the USA or Italy, it now comes to Ireland, bringing together leading voices from Spain and Ireland, to share best practices, foster collaboration, and recognize outstanding contributions to responsible tourism. The event will open with a presentation by the director of the Spanish Tourism Office in Dublin, Laura Pena, and will be moderated by renowned journalist and travel commentator Eoghan Corry. The first panel, “Tourism Products and Experiences for a More Sustainable Tourism Model”, will feature insights from Juan José González, Sales Director of Paradores hotel chain; Mary Denton, CEO of Sunway Travel; Abigail Sigüenza, Strategic Marketing Director of Madrid Destino; and Clare Dunne, CEO of the Irish Travel Agents Association. The keynote address will be delivered by Donal Moriarty, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Aer Lingus, who will share perspectives on aviation’s role in the future of sustainable travel. A second panel, “Good Practices in Sustainable Tourism”, will include contributions from Natalia Bóveda, Marketing Executive at Costa del Sol Tourism; Pere Granados, mayor of Salou; Ken Lyons, Sustainability Manager at CIE Tours International; and Pat Neville, Communications Manager at Coillte. The programme will also include presentations by Turismo Andaluz and Spain by Train, that have proudly sponsored the event. Diego Juárez, representing Spain by Train, will showcase the country’s extensive high-speed rail network as a sustainable and efficient travel option. Antonio Martín-Machuca, Head of Cooperation Management at the Andalusia Tourism Board, will highlight the region’s commitment to responsible tourism and its diverse sustainable travel experiences. The event will conclude with the Tourism Sustainability Awards Ceremony, which will honour Irish professionals and organizations whose work has made a significant contribution to advancing sustainable tourism in Spain. The awards are divided into four categories: Media Award. For outstanding coverage of Spain as a sustainable destination. Ambassador Award. For the best digital content of Spain as a destination committed to sustainability. Experience Award. For the best package, experience and offers that promote sustainable tourism in Spain. Business Award. For companies with exemplary ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) initiatives.
