An ‘unspoilt’ coastal city in Spain is packed with ancient history and bustling tapas bars – and getting there from Birmingham can cost as little as £19. Many Brits flock to Spain for holidays due the warm weather and easy travel – but one destination often goes under the radar for many. Dénia is a beautiful coastal city in Costa Blanca, located between the mountains and sea in the province of Alicante. Located just an hour from Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport, you can book flights for as little as £18.99 with easyJet from Birmingham Airport . Dénia offers true Spanish culture as it is packed with ancient history, including the Moorish castle, Castillo de Denia. Montgó Natural Park is a stone’s throw from the city and is popular with hikers and nature lovers. Foodies will be spoiled for choice in Dénia, which has been classified as a ‘City of Gastronomy’ by UNESCO.
