Ralph Hasenhuttl is unlikely to return to Southampton following Will Still’s sacking on Sunday, Sky Sports has revealed. Saints remain on the lookout for a new manager but are reportedly not in a rush to make an appointment, with the process of identifying their next permanent boss ongoing. Sporting director Johannes Spors is said to be drawing up a list of candidates for the St Mary’s vacancy, but Hasenhuttl is unlikely to be considered despite having recently watched the team. The 58-year-old, who managed Southampton from 2018 to 2022, was reportedly a guest of Bristol City boss Gerhard Struber for Saints’ 3-1 defeat at Ashton Gate late last month.
