Sony Pictures Television chairman Keith Le Goy has joined the lineup for Variety’s C-Suite Conversations block to be presented at Mipcom in Cannes.
Le Goy will take part in a one-on-one interview with Cynthia Littleton, Variety co-Editor in Chief, on Monday, Oct. 13 at the Palais des Festivals on the opening day of the four-day gathering for buyers and sellers in the global TV and film business.
Also on the lineup is Mediawan Pictures CEO Elisabeth d’Arvieu. C-Suite Conversations will lead into the annual Variety Vanguard Award presented in tandem with Mipcom to an executive who has made significant contributions to the growth of the worldwide content biz. This year’s Vanguard recipient is Marco Bassetti, CEO of Banijay Entertainment.
“Keith Le Goy is one of most respected, impactful and insightful dealmakers on the international stage,” said Lucy Smith, director of Mipcom Cannes. “Remaining apart from the streaming business has enabled SPT to invest in shows and take risks with a freedom to produce and sell each independently, providing Keith a unique perspective on current dynamics, opportunities and the path forward for the industry.”
Le Goy was tapped to lead Sony’s TV operations in January amid the CEO transition at Sony Pictures Entertainment as Ravi Ahuja took the reins from Tony Vinciquerra, who is chairman through year’s end. Le Goy has been with Sony TV since 1999. He’s steadily climbed the distribution and marketing ranks within Sony with an emphasis on international expertise. Before Sony, Le Goy worked for Walt Disney Co. in Europe.
Le Goy’s keynote interview comes ahead of Mipcom’s exclusive opening night preview screening of “The Miniature Wife,” Sony Pictures TV’s highly anticipated relationship dramedy set to premiere on Peacock next year. The screening will be held Oct. 13 at Monday evening at 6 p.m. local time in the Palais’ Grand Auditorium. It is open to all Mipcom attendees. “Miniature Wife” stars Matthew Macfadyen, O-T Fagbenle and Sian Clifford.
