Goofoow was reportedly behind several deadly attacks targeting civilians in the region. During the operation, the forces also seized weapons and documents detailing terrorist plots aimed at undermining security and stability in the area. In a separate operation in Waro Mintaaniya village, located 14 km southeast of Burjeet in the Bay region, the SNA killed two key Al-Shabaab operatives identified as Yahye (Abu Khalid), a key organizer of terrorist attacks, and Sharif (Amir), who later died from injuries sustained during the engagement. The Ministry of Defence commended the Somali National Armed Forces for their continued dedication to restoring peace and stability across the country. The Ministry reaffirmed that no safe haven will be tolerated for Al-Shabaab terrorists or their remnants, vowing to intensify ongoing operations until every part of Somalia is liberated from the threat of terrorism.
