EXCLUSIVE: The Sofia Vergara-led animated series Koati has found a home at Netflix. The 13-episode series, which is a ViX Original produced by Upstairs Miami and LatinWE, is set to premiere on the streamer November 13 in both English and Spanish. It will be available in the U.S., Canada, LATAM, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. ViX began production on Koati, created by Melissa de Assís Escobar and Anabella Sosa-Dovarganes, in 2023. The series follows the adventures of Nachi, Xochi, Pako, and Xuxu — four adorable creatures from the Latin American rainforest — as they explore the magical land of XO. Through music, dance, comedy, and their experiences, children discover friendship, kindness, and the wonders of nature. Vergara also executive produces through her company Latin World Entertainment and provides the voice of the character Zaina. “I have been working on this for over a decade,” she said in a statement to Deadline. “It has been hugely important to me to create a show for kids that celebrates the nature, animals, family values, and music of Latin America. I’m incredibly proud that the show has found a home at Netflix and that the team there is helping to share the virtues of Latin America globally.” Additional voice cast includes Adriana Barraza as Amaya, Juan Pablo Monterrubio as Nachi, Habana Zoé López as Xochi, Emilio Treviño as Pako, Andrea Valentina Cabrera as Xuxu, and Sebas Villalobos as Calli. Sosa-Dovarganes served as showrunner, with de Assís Escobar writing alongside Federico Marcello. Sergio Slepczuk and Fernando Sawa directed the series, and Julio Reyes- Copello of Magnus Studios served as musical producer.
