An MLS commentator was caught in an unfortunate hot mic moment on Saturday night as their team was dumped out of the playoffs. The Chicago Fire were eliminated from the postseason with a 3-0 home loss to the Philadelphia Union - with all three goals coming before halftime. And after the first-half whistle, broadcaster Max Thoma was heard issuing a harsh verdict on the first 45 minutes. 'Soooo, that sucked,' the WLS 890 radio play-by-play man was heard saying on the Apple TV broadcast of the match. He then continued: 'For a while there, when it was like 1-0...', before he was cut off by a commercial. The Union wasted little time taking the lead over Chicago as Tai Baribo scored in the eighth minute, before he doubled his team's advantage in the 16th minute. Bruno Damiani then added a third in the 35th minute to give the Union a formidable advantage heading into halftime. The Fire's season-ending loss in the best-of-three series came after they fell to the Union 4-2 on penalties last weekend, following a 2-2 draw. Aside from the loss on Saturday, the Fire criticized their fans for 'unacceptable chanting' after some supporters engaged in the 'puto' chant from the stands. The phrase is widely considered to be homophobic, and the game was stopped late in the second half by the referee after a group of fans chanted it. 'We're disappointed in the unacceptable chanting that came from a group of our fans at this evening's match,' the Fire wrote afterwards on social media. 'That behavior does not reflect who we are as a club or the values we stand for. 'The use of derogatory language at our matches is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
