Snoop Dogg Tells Fans ‘Don’t Worry’ After NYE Special is Canceled

Key Points Snoop Dogg’s New Year’s Eve special on NBC is canceled for this year. Snoop Dogg said, “We’ll party together bigger and better later in 2026. Ya dig.” He will report at the 2026 Winter Olympics and is currently a coach on 'The Voice.' On Nov. 5, rapper and TV personality Snoop Dogg delivered the bad news to fans that the previously announced Snoop Dogg’s New Year’s Eve special is not happening this year. Snoop Dogg commented on the news in a statement to Deadline, saying, “Sometimes the calendar gets in the way of the celebration, which is why my NBC family and I decided this winter was time for us all to focus on the Olympics.” But he assured fans that he will be back in the future, hinting that the New Year’s Eve special will return in 2026, saying, “But don’t worry, we’ll party together bigger and better later in 2026. Ya dig.” The New Year’s Eve show was first announced by NBC in May, with the network even sharing that the two-hour program would take place in Miami, Fla., at 10:30 p.m. EST on Dec. 31. The special was set to be “a night packed with unforgettable music, iconic performances and surprise artist collaborations,” according to a report from Deadline. Jen Neal, EVP of live events and specials at NBCUniversal Entertainment, praised Snoop Dogg and what was set to be an “epic event,” saying in a statement, “Snoop Dogg’s energy, influence and ability to bring people together promises an unforgettable night.” Related: Controversial Comedian Credits Snoop Dogg for This Rare Opportunity NBC didn’t reveal if anything is set to replace Snoop Dogg’s NYE program this year, while other networks are still expected to air their own holiday programs, including Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest and New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash.
