"Saturday Night Live" opened this week's episode with a sketch parodying President Donald Trump's reaction to a man collapsing in the Oval Office during an announcement about plans to lower the cost of obesity drugs. The scene, which recently made headlines, showed Trump keeping his distance as the man fell to the floor — a moment that many said appeared self-explanatory. In the comedy show's cold open, James Austin Johnson reprised his role as the president, offering commentary while doing little to address the situation. "Oh, hi," Johnson said to the camera. "Didn't see you there. Someone was dying in my office. I think I'm playing this very normal. Just stand there and stare like a sociopath. Didn't even pretend like I was going to help." The sketch recreated the Oval Office, featuring Mikey Day as an Eli Lilly executive, Marcello Hernández as Dr Mehmet Oz, head of Medicare and Medicaid Services, and Andrew Dismukes as Health Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr. Jeremy Culhane portrayed the staffer who fainted. Johnson's Trump character joked that each week he tried to "create a big visual that sort of sums up how things are going." "Last week it was the demolishing of the East Wing," he said. "This week it's a medical professional almost dying in my Oval Office at the mere thought of charging less for drugs. Maybe next week a bald eagle will fall dead out of the sky." The sketch also referenced the week's political events, including Zohran Mamdani's election as New York City mayor. "I'm torn," Johnson said. "Because I like a winner but I'm not crazy about a Muslim. Maybe he'll convert, right? We'll put him in line behind Ursha Vance, and I hope I'm pronouncing that wrong." He went on to joke about rising travel costs and Thanksgiving plans, saying: "Good news is, your family's not coming because all the planes are gone." Closing the skit, Johnson's Trump quipped: "I'll say the same thing I said to Melania when she tried to help me do my hair — ‘Go away. What I'm doing is very complicated and only I know how to do it.'" Get Latest News Live on Times Now along with Breaking News and Top Headlines from US News and around the World.
