SLC airport adds Delta Sky Club, American Express Centurion Lounge

The Salt Lake City International Airport experience just got a whole lot more elevated. Two lounges, 10 gates and six concession areas are now open to travelers as part of phases 3 and 4 of the redeveloped airport. The new additions are all a part of concourse B. The Delta Sky Club opened Monday and is the airline’s second-largest lounge, totaling about 34,000 square feet, according to a Delta news release. Eligible travelers — including Sky Club members — can access the lounge’s wraparound bar, soundproof booths and get a drink at a “dirty soda” bar unique to the Salt Lake City location. The location marks the airport’s second Delta lounge. The American Express Centurion Lounge, meanwhile, opened Tuesday to eligible cardmembers. The 18,000-square-foot lounge includes a year-round outdoor terrace, a coffee bar and a “rejuvenation room” with leg compression massagers for weary travelers. “I’ve been in this business for 25 years, and this is not what airports used to do,” Salt Lake City Department of Airports Executive Director Bill Wyatt said. “And travel can be stressful — it’s fun ... but it can be stressful, and having a space like this available really means everything to us, because we’re all about the passenger experience." New concessions on the concourse include: • Art of Aesthetics, a shop that offers medical-grade skincare products and “non-invasive services.” • Aubergine Kitchen, a Utah-headquartered restaurant chain that focuses on healthy, minimally processed foods such as acai bowls, salads and smoothies. • Good Earth Markets, a Utah health and wellness store. • Hudson, a travel convenience store. • Moab Brewery, featuring a family-friendly food menu. • Utah National Parks, a store created in partnership with the National Parks Foundation that features Utah national park-themed items. More concessions — including a Swig location, Moochie’s restaurant and an Einstein Bros. Bagels — will open next fall, along with the airport’s final 11 gates in Concourse B.
