Ten games into the 2025 NFL season and a few teams have already stood out. The New England Patriots, Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos all lead the league record-wise with a similar 8-2 mark. The Seattle Seahawks (7-2), Detroit Lions (6-3) and Buffalo Bills (6-3) are also looking dangerous and primed for a deep postseason run. However, if you ask popular sports commentator Skip Bayless, none of those squads are the best in the NFL. For him, that honor goes to the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. Bayless shared as much on Monday during the Eagles’ showdown with the Green Bay Packers. The Eagles and Packers were tied after the first half, but Philly drew first blood with Jake Elliott’s 39-yard field goal in the third quarter. Jalen Hurts made it a 10-0 game after a 36-yard touchdown pass to DeVonta Smith. While a Josh Jacobs touchdown run helped the Packers cut the Eagles’ lead down to 10-7, Green Bay couldn’t force overtime after Brandon McManus’ 64-yard field goal attempt as time expired fell way short. “I give it up: the Eagles are the best team in the NFL,” Bayless declared before the Eagles closed out the Packers. “Most dominating defense. Clutchest offense. By far the best GM.” Considering that the Packers entered the Week 10 game with a top-10 offense, the fact that the Eagles held them to just one touchdown is definitely impressive. As Bayless stated, the Eagles have also shown that they can deliver offensively when they need to, which has allowed them to pull off a win against Green Bay. The Eagles improved to 7-2 on the season with the victory, staying atop the NFC East.
