Single window system to overhaul TS-iPASS on the cards

A single window system to speed up clearances and approvals for projects as well as to overhaul the existing TS-iPASS system is under the consideration of Telangana government, a senior official said on Friday. Mooted as part of the District Business Reform action plan, the proposed single window system is expected to offer as many as 44 services provided by various departments to not just industrial projects but also across businesses on a single platform. “We would like to overhaul our TS-iPASS system with this single window system... promise much faster clearances and approvals for all the businesses in the State,” director of Industries Nikhil Chakravarthi said. The official, who was addressing the inaugural session of the two-day Hyderabad Entrepreneurship Summit being organised by TiE Hyderabad, said this highlighting the work of Telangana government with regard to the ease of doing business (EODB). Noting that the State figures among the top three in the EODB level rankings, he said some more measures aimed at deregulation, flexible zones for green and white category industries and amendments to Factories and Labour laws are on the cards. The District Business Reform action plan is being implemented since September and is expected to achieve its goals by August 2026. Appreciating TiE’s initiatives, Mr.Chakravarthi said the State government and TiE are discussing an MoU in the backdrop of the former’s keenness to scale 500 high potential small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by 2029, in the process create 3-5 lakh high quality jobs and facilitate access to more than ₹500 crore growth capital. Setting up five regional SME clusters in Telangana focused on sectoral strengths will also be considered under the MoU, he said, pointing out to the importance of fostering growth of such enterprises. MSMEs remain the backbone of the economy but compared to global peers, their contribution is less. Partnerships with institutions such as TiE will help foster the growth of MSMEs in the State, he said, expecting the MoU to be finalised within a week. TiE Hyderabad president Rajesh Pagadala said the summit builds on TiE’s national mission to create one million entrepreneurs, 10 million jobs and $100 billion in value over the next decade. “This perfectly aligns with Telangana’s vision of becoming a global innovation powerhouse by 2047. TiE Hyderabad has mentored thousands of founders over the last 26 years and now it is time to give back by shaping the next generation of entrepreneurs,” he said. A release from the organisers said Hyderabad Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Collective (HEEC), a TiE Hyderabad initiative to foster collaboration, inclusivity and shared growth among startups, investors, academia, industry bodies, and incubators, was launched. HYSEA, FTCCI, COWE, ALEAP, Biome, Hyderabad Angels, Mahindra University, iCollab, Bala Vikasa CSRB, IACC, IIKP, T-Hub, RICH, TG10X, Wadhwani Foundation and Founders First, besides TiE Hyderabad are part of HEEC.
