Simon Cowell’ s bizarre clapping technique has gone viral following his latest appearance on the Jennifer Hudson Show. The X Factor and America’s Got Talent mogul, 65, left viewers scratching their heads after he appeared in a now viral video showing off his way of clapping. The music mogul was the latest star to walk down host Jennifer’s ‘spirit tunnell’ as Simon was celebrated by crew members upon his arrival to the studio. While previous celebrities, including Gossip Girl star Penn Badgley , went viral after their ‘spirit tunnel’ strut, Simon’s has got everyone talking for all the wrong reasons. Viewers couldn’t quite believe their eyes as they watched the X Factor mogul clap in the most awkward way possible, while others pointed out his ‘awkward energy’ and his ‘unusual walk’. While Simon proved that he lacks some rhythm when it comes to both clapping and dancing in time with music, the much-loved ITV icon appeared to be loving every single minute of his ‘spirit tunnel’ experience as he beamed from ear-to-ear and chuckled to himself as he walked to the studio to finally greet Jennifer. As always, Simon was dressed in his now infamous uniform consisting of a black t-shirt, baggy blue jeans, and his trademark black boots. The music mogul lapped up the positive energy as he greeted the staff and crew of The Jennifer Hudson Shoe before heading to his interview. When quizzed about his antics, the mogul said: “I absolutely loved that. When they told me about it, it is seriously the best way of coming onto a show, seriously do you mind if I steal it for America’s Got Talent.” The TV judge also admitted he’s a lot shier than people think. ““I am very shy. I can’t go to a pre-party — it’s my worst thing in the world making small talk with people I don’t know. “If we have a common subject, I’m pretty good, but years ago if I had to go to a party, particularly if we had to stand up with a drink, with -horrible food, and just talk to people you don’t know — it’s torture.” Following his wholesome entrance to the studio, viewers flocked to social media to share their thoughts on Simon’s very unusual clapping technique. One wrote: “Why is Simon CLAPPING like that?!! I love this man.” ” Simon Cowell is and always be an enigma to me. The clapping, the awkward walk, the lack of any ounce of rhythm. A strange man indeed but what a man,” another viewer quipped. Someone else mocked: “Why does Simon Cowell clap like he has baby T-Rex arms?” “Why does Simon Cowell clap like he’s a robot trying to emulate human movements,” another viewer questioned. Other viewers jumped to Simon’s defense as they reminded others that the Britain’s Got Talent star suffered a life-changing accident after his e-bike crashed in August 2020. At the time, Simon broke his back and the incident required a six-hour surgery to insert a metal rod into his spine and resulted in other injuries, including a broken arm and a concussion. Referring to Simon’s horror crash and the months of recovery after it, one fan insisted: “For everyone questioning his stature, he was in a horrible accident that left his back a mess. To see him walking and moving around semi normally is awesome.” In response, someone else joked: “Thank you to those who explained what happened to him because I was wondering if this way AI.” Another added: “It’s so weird seeing him walk he’s usually behind the judges table lol.” It comes after reports that a major documentary on The X Factor is in development. The now-axed ITV competition series initially aired from 2004 until 2018 and discovered stars such as One Direction , Leona Lewis , and Olly Murs, among scores of others. Over the course of 14 years, wannabe singers attended open auditions for the show and were mentored by superstar judges like Cheryl , Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Gary Barlow for the chance to land a £1 million recording contract and launch a single in time for Christmas . The whole format was headed up by music mogul Simon Cowell , and winners such as Alexandra Burke , former Coronation Street star Shayne Ward and Joe McElderry were signed to his Syco record label. According to insiders, the programme, which has yet to be ‘fully greenlit,’ will speak to those ‘closest’ to the show’s production, but bosses are hoping to get Simon himself to agree to take part. A source said: “This will be a definitive, -premium series about a true entertainment TV -jugg-ernaut. Those closest to the story will be approached to be in the show, both in front of and behind the camera, and discussions are ongoing. “It follows on from Sky Docs’ history of authentic and unfiltered documentaries, notably the recent -Boyzone biopic. The doc has yet to be fully greenlit, despite now being at an advanced stage of development, but -persuading Simon to take part could be the final piece of the jigsaw.” At its peak, The X Factor pulled in record figures of 17.7 million viewers when Matt Cardle was crowned winner in 2010, whilst 12.8 million tuned in in late 2008 to watch US megastar Britney Spears lip-sync to her track Womaniser. Other A-Listers like Whitney Houston , Beyoncé and Rihanna also turned up for guest performances during the show’s lengthy run.
