And this is his national stage now — maybe the last time for him if there is no Game 7. He doesn’t talk much about retirement or the finish line and knowing when the end is coming at age 41. This hasn’t been an easy season for him, his first and probably only season as a Blue Jay. But he’s never stopped believing or behaving as if the best was coming tomorrow. “You feel good about veteran guys in a hostile environment,” said Schneider in explaining his rationale for who starts when. “And we just wanted to match up the rest accordingly, too.” Game 4 isn’t a favourable pitching matchup for the Jays, either.
