Simbu Teachers College Catholic students recognized for faith and service

By Gethrude Bakaie Third-year Catholic students from Simbu Teachers College were awarded certificates of recognition by the Catholic Diocese of Kundiawa under the Catholic Education Services today at Kundiawa St. Mary’s Cathedral. The students were acknowledged for their commitment to their Catholic faith and their active participation in church liturgical activities. During the presentation ceremony, Mr. Benjamin Bakaie, the Catholic Education Secretary encouraged the 3rd year Catholic students to be examples of faith. “Keep your lights and Catholic identity on the table for everyone to see”, he urged them. He expressed the Diocese’s gratitude for their involvement in church activities throughout their three-year course of study. Mr. Kol, the teacher in charge of the students, expressed his thanks to the Catholic Education team for the recognition and stated that it was a first of its kind. He further told the students to embody their Catholic faith in their future teaching roles, wherever they may be posted.
