‘Silence makes one appear wise and knowledgeable’ – Sam George jabs Ntim Fordjour

The Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George, has taken a swipe at the Member of Parliament for Assin South, Rev John Ntim Fordjour, over the ongoing debate about the increase in the enlistment age into the Ghana Armed Forces.

Ntim Fordjour had reportedly stated that calls by some members of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), including Sam George and his colleague, the Member of Parliament for South Dayi, were aimed at allowing the recruitment of “average NDC foot soldiers into the military.”

Reacting in a post shared on his X on Thursday, October 9, 2025, Sam George, who is also the MP for Ningo-Prampram, reacted to Ntim Fordjour’s claim.

He sarcastically praised the NPP MP and Ranking Member of Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee, saying his remarks showed that his party “has the men” to govern the country.

“Sometimes, just sometimes, silence makes one appear wise and knowledgeable. The logic espoused by my friend and colleague is so rich that I am lost for words. Let us celebrate the depth of his knowledge and the latitude of his wisdom.

“NDC foot soldiers only qualify to be foot soldiers once they are 28 years old, and those between 18 and 27 years are not Ghanaian enough to serve,” he wrote.

“Massive respect to the NPP’s lead person on Defence and Interior. He is the best they have. They truly have the men,” he added.
