    SHRC for bailable warrants against Surabhi Institute of Medical Sciences Chairman and Principal 

    The State Human Rights Commission on Tuesday ordered for issue of bailable warrants against the chairman and the principal of Surabhi Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS), Siddipet, for their appearance before the Commission for inquiry.

    The Commission was responding to a complaint by one Merugu Karthik, a student of SIMS. As per his earlier complaint, the college was illegally withholding his original study certificates and as a result, he could not upload the same for postgraduate admissions notified by Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS). The last date for uploading the certificates is October 8.

    It also recommended KNRUHS and the related authorities, following The Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993, should not force the candidate to submit original certificates for two weeks.
