Bollywood actors Ayushmann Khurrana, Shraddha Kapoor, producer Dinesh Vijan and other celebrities recently graced the grand trailer launch of Thamma, the latest movie in Maddock Films’ horror-comedy universe. During the event in Mumbai, Shraddha Kapoor surprised fans by announcing a standalone animated film ‘Choti Stree’ inspired by her character from the hit horror-comedy franchise Stree. The actress revealed that it will be released in theatres and will be a lot of fun for all age groups.
Shraddha Kapoor Announces Choti Stree
Speaking at the event, Shraddha said, “The Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU) is coming out with Choti Stree as an animated film, which will be released in theatres. So it’s going to be total fun for everyone — kids and families alike. I think it’s a very exciting time for India, and it feels amazing to be a part of this universe.” Producer Dinesh Vijan also spoke about the animated spinoff, and revealed that it will answer fans’ questions about Stree’s back story, and will be released 6 months before Stree 3.
Dinesh Vijan said, “The way Amar and Niren Bhatt (screenwriter) have planned this is that Choti Stree will end with live-action footage from Stree 3, and it will answer all your questions about Stree’s backstory. And then six months later, we will release Stree 3”.
Meanwhile, Dinesh Vijan and Shraddha Kapoor also unveiled the official logo of Maddock’s Horror-Comedy Universe (MHCU). The franchise began with Amar Kaushik’s Stree in 2018, followed by Bhediya, then Munjya, and Stree 2.

Shraddha Kapoor praised Dinesh Vijan during the event, and said, “To be a part of a film like Stree was a very special moment, and Dino is, of course, the captain of the ship. It’s all his vision, and now he has created a sensibility that every actor wants to be a part of films deeply rooted in our culture. Now, within India, we are creating universes like these. It’s time to forget Hollywood universes, because we have our very own desi horror-comedy universe.”
