Jalebi Baby rapper Tesher’s Instagram story, hours after a national anthem goof-up at the India vs Pakistan clash of the Asia Cup in Dubai, has gone viral on social media. If the tension wasn’t already soaring, the DJ at the stadium committed a blunder and played the aforementioned song in place of the Pakistan national anthem.
When it was time to play Pakistan’s national anthem, the DJ played Tesher and Jason Derulo’s hit track ‘Jalebi Baby’ instead at Dubai International Stadium.
The song played for six seconds before the Pakistan National Anthem was restored. Social media burst out in laughter as embarrassment for the team began even before the first ball was bowled.
“Shout out to the sound guy for messing up the anthem and making this an absolutely hilarious day for me. Accidents happen to the best of us. God bless u, whoever you are,” Tesher wrote on his Instagram story in the wee hours of Monday.
Tesher did not stop there; he posted multiple other Instagram stories mocking the incident. “Jalebi Baby is always the right anthem,” he posted on his social media. ”

“When I said Jalebi Baby was an anthem, this isn’t what I had in mind,” Tesher said.
Meanwhile, spinners Axar Patel (2/18 in 4 overs), Kuldeep Yadav (3/18 in 4 overs) and Varun Chakravarthy (1/24 in 4 overs) were immaculate in terms of line and length as none of the Pakistan batters showed the wherewithal to play the troika from their hands.
The result was a lowly 127/9 from Pakistan, which was at least 50 runs below the par score. In reply, Abhishek Sharma (31 off 13 balls) flayed their biggest bowling hope, Shaheen Shah Afridi (0/23 in 2 overs), with utter disdain, while captain Suryakumar Yadav celebrated his 35th birthday with a fine 47 not out off 37 deliveries in a chase that was completed even before the death overs began.
