Donald Trump has made it known that he believes he deserves a Nobel Peace Prize, and Sen. John Fetterman apparently thinks he should be considered, too.
The Democrat from Pennsylvania shared his thoughts while appearing on Fox News on Thursday. It came as Isreal and Hamas agreed to a U.S.-backed plan for peace in Gaza.
“If this sticks,” Fetterman told Fox of the peace agreement. “I think the whole point of having a Nobel Peace Prize is for ending wars and promoting peace. And if he brings the Ukrainian war to its end, I will be the Democrat leading the committee for his Nobel Peace Prize.”
According to Newsweek, Trump’s chances of winning the Nobel Peace Prize have surged after the Israel-Hamas announcement.
The outlet reported that Trump is now second on the list of favorites for the award with his odds rising from 16.7 percent on October 3 to 25 percent today at bookmaker Star Sports. The leader for the award according to the site is Sudan’s Emergency Response Room with a 33.3 percent chance of winning or 2/1 odds.
Doctors Without Bords and Yulia Navalnaya — who is the wife of the late Russian opposition activist Alexei Navalny — are third and fourth in the odds to take home the prize.
The world will find out soon enough if Trump does get the Nobel Peace Prize for this year because the award winner is slated to be announced on Friday.
